a truly bizarre (for me) tune. I love it. it was when i started writing songs with word games for February Album Writing Month (FAWM). I continue in this practice every year for at least a few songs. They are all magic.
This is also a nod to motherhood and especially my own, who birthed 7 of us babies!

we were charmed into storms of hilarity
we collapsed on each other, laughing hysterically
he told me a dream of salt-and-pepper milk goats
and them kids are lapping at the belly of the doe

at the time, we thought it was kinda noble
only way to get through that is not to grovel
the dream went on, aint a hell of a lot of milk left
and them kids are tearing her to pieces

the profession of motherhood had accustomed her to forgetfulness
for how else could she manage to keep on repeating this
the dream ended and we both woke up
telling each other more tales

we were swept up in tears of disparity
at the time we were taken with the parody
